With programs for elders, young parents, teens and toddlers, we are creating a peaceful, independent and thriving future for our country. Programs take place at our Center, our Peace Academy and in the community life.
Nestled next to Rubavu in the Northwest Province, our compound in the cozy village of Nyundo is home to our Peace Center and Peace Academy. Community groups gather in our outdoor pavilion and attend programming and mediations in large and small meeting rooms. Administration of all our programming happens at the Center and is home to our circle of facilitators and trainers. The Academy hosts a nursery school with three classrooms, a library and a large playground.
The real work of peacebuilding happens in the community where our Peace Clubs bring together groups of about 20 - 50 adults to work together on a project that will bring financial independence to those who participate. Our facilitators organize, train, and bring ongoing support. Peace is a way of life that is brought to life by the ongoing activities of our Clubs.
Our unique approach builds sustainable peace by integrating the 3 pillars of our approach: conflict transformation, trauma healing and economic self-sufficiency. The key to our success is in our holistic approach.
